First Cow was good, not great. I felt like the critics overhyped it to some degree. It's a simple story of friendship in a western/frontier setting. It leans on quality performances from both of the leads and their good chemistry throughout. It serves as a solid drama, but was a little too slow for my liking. It also just didn't resonate on a deeper level with me as it very well may have for some. Still, First Cow is worth a watch.
